Lafayette Square is my favorite venue now for hearing music outside in Nola.
Call me a snob: Everything is so much prettier!
The trees are grand and generous, the architecture is a graceful backdrop, and the crowd is –well, attractive.
Do you catch The Sartorialist? It’s a guy who speeds around New York, Milan and Paris, shooting style on the streets. So, here’s mine…of Lafayette Square on Wednesday Nights in summer. My eyes were blessed.
- A Sun-Dressed mom with a Do-all “Baby†cart –which even holds her phone,
- A woman (another) –in plunge-neck sundress, waiting, waiting, circling and waiting, for her date to show.
Please note: Although a typical Lafayette square goer-this individual would be glaringly out of order in the ByWater as, too clean, too clean, too clean!
I was in heaven.
(I don’t get out much.—but: to return)–
The luckiest/happiest toddler in the world, had siblings tossing around with him, as well as a nice looking set of cheerfully harried parents. Then, on the next block as we were headed away from the “party†and, in perfect step with the evening’s theme: A little dog with dancing shoes, who could not stay on all four feet…
He positively could not stop himself!
